Is there some Polyglot available that have the letter directly written on each key? Please!!!
Just got my keyboard recently and am still learning how to use it but so far it is amazing. Great build quality, amazing design
Great keyboard for practicing steno, especially if you're a beginner and need to quickly switch back to qwerty frequently to send messages or look up how to chord a word. For some reason, part of the board had some sort of sticky residue on it when it arrived, but it was easily cleaned with an alcohol pad.
Amazing keyboard, feels so nice to type on, I’m very satisfied with my purchase, trying to learn steno
I have taken quite a few months since my purchase to use the Polyglot before writing a review:
The Polyglot is now my go-to keyboard. Period.
It took me a few rough weeks of getting used to the ortholinear keys and the various layers. It WAS, at times, frustrating but I kept the map of keys handy and various use-cases made me learn where things were fast enough. I must say, the thought that went into the programing of the various layers is EXCELLENT. While at first I felt like I didn't know where things were, now I feel like I have SO MUCH at my fingertips.
I then followed the instructions online to re-flash my keyboard and use Javelin to embed Steno. HOLY COW this is wonderful! I am now able to plug my Polyglot into ANY device an write in Steno. Confirmed it works on my android phone, an iPad, a Windows computer, and more.
The keyboard layout is a little different when you switch to include javelin/embedded steno, but only a bit. I update the onboard dictionary via a DUPT stroke "Dictionary Update." This works fantastically!
At this point I really dislike when I have to use a non-ortholinear keyboard... especially one that wont let me write in Steno!
I am SO thankful to StenoKeyboards for creating the Uni AND Polyglot; and for those that have been working on the software that allows my hardware to be so powerful.
Anyone can learn
Anyone can learn steno. All it takes is a little bit of consistent practice! 200+ WPM is just within reach!
